Wow.. There are simply no words to describe the buffett here at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. The architecture, live music and spacious couches earn it simply 100% on our atmosphere rating! As for the price rating, it isn't exactly value-for-your-money if you're only gonna eat marshmallows covered with chocolate... yummy though, but here are what you should expect to pay:

Breakfast (Anyday) - (P818+++ to 1004.71+++)
Lunch and Dinner (Mon.- Sat.) - (P1188+++ - 1459+++)
(Sundays) - (P1688+++ - 2073+++)

All per person, subject to change without prior notice and you can get a major discount if you have a friend with a Philippine Plaza discount card!

And now for the buffett!!!

Chef's working overtime refilling the food

Look... yummm..

Japanese section, sushi, sashimi and all that good stuff :)

big fish >.<

Chinese section :) dimsum and all

Anything and everything grilled

Paella, looks like it hasn't been touched, but really has just been refilled :p

(Vegetarian Station... uhm... sure..)

Bread Station. But really, for the price you're paying... bread isn't the smartest choice.

The details to what you're eating! (It's great isn't it!)

The cheese station, plenty of different cheese, plus the right wine to go with it :)

(DESERTSSSSSS)

(MORE DESSERTS!!!)

The Crepe Station!!!

Mango crepe with Vanilla ice cream, topped with nice thick chocolate syrup... heaven..

Ice cream station... (Really yummy, sorry for the unflattering photo)

WOW!! CAN YOU JUST LOOK AT THAT!!!

The white and dark chocolate waterfalls!! (willy wonka!!)

Chocolate covered marshmallows and a nice cookie

Do not get the laksa, the laksa is not authentic, and as you can, we didn't even finish it.

Mussels

Fresh CRABS (these were really good!!!)

(These nice oysters were my favourite, they're fresh and raw and absolutely what you'd like)

Hidden Shawarma... (which was really good with the hotsauce)

So as a whole, it is expensive, but heck, its eat ALL YOU CAN!!! ALL OF THIS!!! PLUS MORE, I could have easily put in 60 photos, there were so many dishes and all. :) I hope you enjoy this, this was really a treat :p

Myrons

Its all about the "Steaks, Ribs and Seafood" at Myrons. When you step in, you will notice an immediate break away from the mall atmosphere. Of course the noise and distraction of passerbys is still there, but the comfy chairs, mellow music and friendly staff should take you away for awhile.
The first thing you should really be getting are the Baked Oysters Rockefeller (P330), which are absolutely scrumptious! The very well cooked oysters are smoothered, yes smoothered, with thick yummy cheese and topped with bacon bits that are an absolute melt-in-your-mouth combination! Because of how good it tasted, we ordered 3 orders :)

Next up, the samosas. The problem with this picture is we've already eaten 3 pieces. HAHA, it was really a grab as fast as you can when the plate landed. The samosas were good, nothing much to rave for, barely finished mine, but my parents loved it. Must be the age thing. :p Coconut-curried Vegetable Samosas with Chili Dip (P135)

"I want my, baby back, baby back, baby back, bacy back ribs..." As Fat Bastard famously said in Austin Powers, Myron's offers something that will please this fat.. bastard. With a delicatable Mesquite Barbecue sauce on top, this Baby Back ribs with Smokey Mesquite Barbecue sauce (P475) is a must order. I must say though, the ribs at sometimes are a bit too hard, but it really depends I guess on how you want it done. For the price, I think its pretty reasonable, it comes with a serving of plain rice on the side and some veggies too.

Ahhh... the Duet of Bacon-wrapped Petite US Certified Angus Steak and Grilled Prawns (P500), the longest name for what could possibly be called "2 steaks with prawns and bacon". Well, we at eatph are happy because it describes the meal quite well, these two really juicy steaks coupled with tasty and easy to bite into grilled prawns are ingeniously presented. But wait, there's still more, if you order this right now, you get it wrapped with bacon too. That's incredible, what an offer! (say that with the Home Shopping Australian accent). This great dish is served with plain rice and a dash of love.

Am I missing anything?? Oh yes... The Ultimate Third of a Pound Wagyu Burger (p365) it is for real people. This great tasting exhibition by the chef will throw wonders and delights at your taste buds. When you sink your canines in, you will love the amazing mouth watering taste of the burger. It is soft, it is juicy, it is everything you want. What do you expect, it is a third of a pound of Wagyu, currently being patented for its name and its genetic sequencing. (Author's Note: Wagyu is known for its luxurious fat marbling) anyways, pretend you didn't see the italics and just dig in, because it is a feast in your mouth.

And if you're still not out of money (which would mean you qualify for Philippine's heaviest spenders 2008), you can still order the Chili Soft Shell Crab on Garlic Noodles (P350), this fusion meal is really great. However, I hated the fact that the "soft shell" was still there and I had to manually take it off, one could have had a better meal without it. *Edit* I'm informed recently that it is meant to be there, and that some people may actually enjoy the soft shell being there *Edit* The garlic noodles however really complemented the meal, it was absolutely unique in a sense that I've never had garlic noodles, which again makes it unique! Nam Nam... really good :)

Finally, for the kids, you can order their Spaghetti with Meatsauce which is just, according to my 9 yearold sister, great! hahah so I hope you take your wonderful family to this restaurant, or your date, and have a great meal, as we at eatph proudly recommend Myrons @ Rockwell. (Author's Note: One thing we didn't try but is absolutely recommended is their Myron's Choice, 14oz with Foie Gras and their Grape and Plum Shakes)

One thing that struck me about this restaurant is serving size and price. There aren't a lot of restaurants out there which serve large meals for really cheap prices. And in Chef d' Angelo, 150 pesos should already go a long way.

This meal of Fries, BigBirdFriedChicken, and Pizza only costs 125 pesos. You can also choose how you'd like your chicken to be served -- whether sweet, spicy or coated with bbq sauce. The chicken and the pizza was superb. The BBQ sauce of the chicken was heaven on earth. And the Hawaiian pizza slice was also something to rave about. If this meal isn't enough, which I find hard to believe, you can order a cup of rice for an additonal 20 pesos. (This meal is drink-exclusive)

Chef d' Angelo's platter of Classic BigBirdFriedChicken, Pasta and Pizza is another delectable meal. You can choose between red sauce or white sauce for your pasta. I would personally recommend ordering red sauce for the pasta because the one that I ordered was a little bland. The chicken was awesome as always and so was the pizza. Just like the one above, this meal costs 125 pesos and is drink-exclusive as well.

Located at the corner of A. Arnaiz Avenue in Makati City, this tucked away Japanese restaurant offers imported Japanese Wagyu Beef Tenderloin Steak (150g, P1870) and US Angus Beef Tenderloin Steak (150g, P1430) among great dishes. You can save a lot of money by ordering from their deluxe set menu, so the imported meat comes with mixed vegetables, tempura, sashimi, kobachi, salad, soup, Chahan (fried rice) and coffee.

We ordered the Japanese Wagyu in the deluxe set menu. The beef was soft and tender, and there was plenty to go around for 2 so we did split just one, the picture above is half of what you would get. Remember, this is the deluxe set, so we also got tempura (it is not ebi tempura btw, which means shrimp tempura, instead we got 1 shrimp with plenty of vegetables), ice cream (instead of coffee) and soup.

The Chahan was great and smelled really good too! This went along excellent with the beef, but what really made the highlight were the sauces!

The Apple Cider sauce was my favorite, it really went well with the beef. :)

The Honey Mustard was sweet and yummy, it was her personal favourite :) I don't trust her with my beef though :p

The Garlic Sauce, err... This sauce is for the grown-ups.. It has the distinct taste of garlic, wasn't fun for me.
The atmosphere is great, you can get a private room, just try to reserve earlier; or dine outside. Usually the place is full, the day we ate was a weekday so it wasn't.

We recommend Chef Enan, he comes highly recommended by a lot of people, good service and great entertainment. He juggles the cooking utensils, and has a thing called the "helicopter egg" or something, where he spins it and tosses it up in the air, only to catch it with the side of his metal turner (flipper). The only problem we have with the service is the time we complained about the tempura, and they still insisted. The tempura we thought was going to consists of shrimp tempura, instead, we got 1 shrimp tempura mixed with lots of vegetables. We thought it would be nice if actually got some more shrimp, so that we didnt have to split one, but we didn't get our way. Other than that, everything else went great, food was quick and good.

Beware of the parking, the restaurant is two floors and the parking is very small outside, sometimes cars triple park, and it takes ages to get out... AGES!

Service charge is already included so don't tip anymore, just tip the chef. Oh and when you see him put the wine, lean back a little, apparently one customer had his eyebrows fixed for free during the exhibition.

The Menu:

Okay, this is definitely a must-go restaurant. Perfect date spot too! Great food and great service, you will definitely not be disappointed!
